Job Description / Responisbilties


  • The Communications Officer is responsible for assisting the Communications Supervisor in the development and delivery of communications materials to maintain and promote the DAL Engineering’s reputation and visibility. This includes the production of publications; copy writing and editing; and supporting the delivery and integration of social media and online activity.


  • Work collaboratively with the Communications Supervisor to identify, research, assist and manage media around local government issues and opportunities.

  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative and innovative organizational culture.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of communication plans and strategies tailored to our customers and target audience.

  • Identify opportunities to promote brand and draft plans for or manage company’s public events when necessary.

  • Actively contribute to building the engagement culture across the Division.

  • Develop, write and edit communication and marketing materials, including press releases, blog posts and social media content

  • Promote communications through fitting channels & track analytics, create reports to asses successes & failures

  • Work with communication team on communication strategies and campaigns.

  • Ensure all staff have access to a range of internal communications, so they are able to keep up to date with important council news, share information and raise concerns, for example, management team meetings, briefings and email updates by senior staff and so on.

  • Manage the compilation and distribution of the internal staff newsletter, including writing and editing content, arranging photography, overseeing design (and production and print if it is produced in hard copy).

  • Manage media relations and maximize media opportunities and contact members of the media to set up interviews with company reps.

  • Create company literature and other forms of communication.

  • Research media coverage and industry trends and conduct extensive media outreach.

  • Monitor mentions of the company in the media and collate analytics.

  • Organize and manage seminars and training events for staff to learn more about the Engineering Division’s corporate objectives, or other departments within the Division.


  • Qualifications:

    • University Degree in Communications.

    • Professional Certification in  Communications

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years working in communications

    • Minimum 2 years work as team leader

    • Work experience in   upcountry
