Job Description :

JOB PROFILE   - To formulate and direct the implementation of the Marketing strategy that enables the company to meet its business objectives.  

Title of position: Marketing  Manager

Core purpose of the Job:  (Short description)

•Responsible for managing marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities at a company. Takes steps to measure, enhance, and enrich the position and image of the company through the various sated goals and objectives.

Context :

•Managing all phases of the Marketing Activities including Advertising, Pricing and promotion.

Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities/outputs of the position (KPA's)

Key Tasks: Indicates those KPA’s that are essential to the position itself. These are normally specific to the incumbent, the job, and the function. Excludes role and leadership/management.

1.Develop an efficient marketing and branding strategy based on the market characteristics, cost and markup factors to ensure that the Business objectives are met.

2.Meets marketing financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

3.Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.

4.Analyzing market trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand and customer satisfaction.

5.Accomplishes marketing goals by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; and by developing field merchandizing action plans.

6.Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; and establishing targeted market share.

7.Participates on the product specifications such as design, color, and packaging. 

8.Collaborate with Sales and sourcing to develop strategic partnership activities and implement the execution framework and strategic plan on identified opportunities. 

9.Negotiate & sign contracts with vendors for marketing activities implementation.

10.Work directly with department heads to coordinate purchasing and financial aspects.

11.Responsible for upholding a safe work environment.

12.Submit a monthly report and upon request reports.

13.Perform Ad-hoc duties assigned by management. 

Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Complexity: Refers to the responsibilities for directing, guiding, motivating and influencing others.

•Responsible of directing the staff in the development, analysis, and preparation of reports.

•Manage and motivate the team

•Share best practices with colleagues.

•Participate in the recruitment and formation of teams 

•Ensure department co-ordination and oversee the marketing activities 

•Define and follow the Marketing Dept. Key Performance Indicators 

•Carry out employee performance appraisals

•Work in SPSS file as well as Excel for advance analysis of data.

Vulnerabilities: Refers to the latent difficulties, or things that could potentially go wrong that affect a specific position..

•Data clearing. 

•System Breakdown.

•Electricity cut off

•Delay from Vendors.

Collaboration: Refers to formal and informal relationships

Responsibility towards:  

Direct report to:  Factory General Manager

Matrix reports: Managing Director 

Key customers: Sales Dept. 

Key suppliers: Social Media organizations

Discretionary Space: The degree to which individuals are allowed to exercise independent thought and judgment.

Authorities: Financial and other decision making authorities

•As delegated authority.

Minimum Requirements: Minimum necessary, and not the ideal / preferred should be included.



•Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or equivalent Degree ( MBA  is a plus)


•Minimum 12 -15 years’ experience in related field, i.e. Industrial field.

•Proven Managerial experience, as a Marketing  Manager


•Professional English and Arabic knowledge, in both writing and speaking

•Strong skills in computer applications especially MS Excel, Word, Power Point.

•Analysis Software.

Skills / physical competencies:

•Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic Influencing and negotiation skills.

•Familiarity with Marketing standards   and Sudanese culture..

•Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.

•Strong analytical and reporting skills.
